Hi All,

Within General Journals is it possible to programmatically call from C# to API WebService - Delete Batch "A" Entries

Then I would want to Delete Batch "B" Entries, Delete Batch "C" Entries for as many times as needed

The reason is for automated uploading ... 409 batches of 2000 or more are needed for 1 million records to be uploaded

(if I use Excel Column Number starting with A then batch 409 is "OS")

Do you mean from General Journal Batch call a C# class to delete entries (or perform other operations)? If so, yes it’s possible. Create the class, place it in the ad-in folder (server or client), create the DotNet variable for instantiate the class and use the methods. The C# class yes, can use API.

Why don't you create a Page having SourceTable as GenJournalLines, filter these Entries as per batch name and use a Control Add-In to connect C# function to API WebService to trigger the DELETEALL method in NAV.

Are you planning to upload the entries to Gen. Journal using web service ? and use it for posting ?

Hi Suresh

Yes ... I have written some C# code to post into a NAV WebService to upload the General Journals

It looks like I need to create 409 batches of 2000 to 3000 to get my just under a million records in which is 2 years of historical data the client has requested

Then after initial uploading then they need posting

To be very honest & from a technical point of view this "L" (Loading") within the ETL end to end process is proving to be a bit of a pain ... normally the challenge is the Extract and Transform

"Technically" it would be nice to simply provide a file in the right format and say NAV go Upload and Post ....
