Hi! Is there a way that when you select a price list in the work order form then when I search for the New Work Order products, only the products under that price list will show? Currently, when you select the price list, all products still appear.
Please help

    Hey!

I couldn't find anything on this but definitively sounds like a nice feature:  If you have a price list associated, only the products under the price list should be allowed.  You can search if this has been a suggestion to Microsoft's engineering on https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/search-ideas/?q=work%20order%20price%20list and if it hasn't been suggested, you can provide this feedback!

Hi! By default, the Work Order Product lookup shows all products. To filter it by the selected Price List:
Use a custom JavaScript on the Work Order Product form or a Power Automate + custom view:
    • In JavaScript, on Price List change, filter the Product lookup using addCustomFilter.
    • Alternatively, create a custom view that filters products by price list and apply it dynamically.
There’s no OOB feature to auto-filter by price list — customization is required.

Yes, the reply was helpful and provided a clear solution. It explained that the default behavior of the Work Order Product lookup is to show all products, and that there's no out-of-the-box (OOB) feature to automatically filter this list by the selected Price List. The reply then offered two viable customization methods to achieve the desired filtering

    Hi @tin007

Yes — what you want is possible, but Dynamics 365 doesn’t do it out-of-the-box for Work Order Products. You’ll need to add a small customization to make the Product lookup filter dynamically based on the selected Price List on the Work Order.

Here’s how you can implement it:

    1. Add a JavaScript to Filter the Product Lookup

You’ll use the addCustomFilter method in your JavaScript to filter by the selected Price List.

    2. Alternative: Custom View

If you don’t want JS, you could:
    a. Create a custom view of Products filtered by the Price List.
    b. Use code or a plugin to set that view as default when a Price List is chosen.

    3. Limitations

    a. You must make sure the Work Order form and Work Order Product form both have the Price List accessible so the filter works.

    b. This filter only affects the lookup search — users could still technically bypass it by creating products without a matching price list unless you enforce it with a plugin or business rule.
