Master Planning - Negative Inventory

Hi,

I have Item A having negative inventory (-5 Quantity). At the same time I have demand of 2 Quantity. I want Planning Engine should suggest only 2 quantity when Items having negative quantity.

Other the other hand, if I have Items with positive inventory (+5 Qty), it should not suggest any requirement.

Can anyone please advice how it can be configured in the system?

Have you tried un-checking the Include on-hand inventory in your Master plan setup?

First try unchecking your master plan to use inventory and/or inventory transactions.

Then try setting the negative days in your master plan or coverage group to be the same as your planning horizon and set positive days to 0 (or maybe 1 because 0 is ignored).

Or simply never use negative inventory for planned items... ;) If you have need for material planning for an item; How can you get a negative quantity?

Hi,

If I uncheck the Include On-Hand Inventory, it would not calculate the exact requirement for the Items having positive inventory.

I mean, if I have Item A with +5 Qty, and I have requirement of 2 Qty (Via Sales Order), what would planning engine suggest here? Would it suggest 2 Qty or Zero (As I already have sufficient inventory available)?
