hi world,
I've built a simple model driven app to track physical activities and I've embedded the app in Teams for ease of access. I had a couple of questions with the focus to make the app easy and a seamless experience:
1. Can we remove these icons here?
2. In Workbench, we were able to remove some buttons, however we were not able to remove 'Import from Excel' nor 'Show As' nor 'Show Chart'. Any idea if this can be done?
thank you in advance!
Hi lkay,
1.Only way.
'+' button is global quick create button:

2.sys admin can see all.
3.Multiple controls must display this button.
thank you Leah Ju for your detailed responses.
Quick follow up:
1. I for some reason was not able to Mscm.GlobalTab in workbench ribbon. I would like to HIDE the lightbulb, search, and filter icons. Is thru workbench the only way? Further, are you aware where I can customize the so that the '+' sign prompts a user to actually create a record. Right now the '+' does nothing.
2. I had modified those settings on the security role, maybe its because im sys admin, i still see 'Import from Excel'. I will connect with a colleague to double check that. The impersonate tool is giving me an error for this app..
3. When removing all other controls, it did indeed remove the 'Show as'. However, bummer, I'd like to get the editable grid mode on (grouping is useful), WITHOUT a jump bar, and without the 'show as' button. I wasnt able to achieve that.
thanks for all your help
Hi lkay,
1.The buttons shown in your first screenshot are Global Buttons.
Global Ribbon Buttons are the buttons that display on top-right corner of Dynamics Interface and on whatever entity form. Some OOTB global button are: Advanced Find, Search, Task Flow, Assistant,... This trick will show you how to customize Global button.

2.'Import from Excel' button
Remove privileges for "Data Import" on security roles assigned to users. They will lose the ability to import data and hence the import button will be hidden.
3.'Show As' button:
--If the current entity contains more than one control, this button will display
4.'Show Chart' button:
I am afraid that this is not possible.
