MRP NOT CONSIDERING ON HAND INVENTORY

Hi Team,

When i run the MRP on AX 2012, the suggestions doesn't consider on-hand inventory. I did read in the blog saying, we need to perform the below steps

1. Released items > plan action tab > net requirements > update master scheduling

Post doing the steps above, and rerunning the Master planning, the results are correct.

Do we have to do this for every item ? is there any setting i am missing ?

Thanks in advance !

    Hi Praveen,

Can you elaborate on your full setup? Are you including e.g. purchase forecasts? If so, these are indeed ignoring on-hand as it is a forecast to buy items.

    Hi Craig,

The "include on-hand inventory" under /Master planning/Area page/setup/plans/masterplans is checked. System does consider the on-hand for calculation for Master Planning, but the problem is that i need to update the net requirements under item master for Master planning to suggest correct procurement requests.

    Thank you !

    Hi Praveen,

There are a few things you could look at here.

There is an Include On-Hand Inventory flag (I haven't got access to an AX2012 at the moment and cannot remember if it's on the Coverage Group or the Master Plan itself)

Do you run Automatic Reservations? If that is the case then even though you have stock on-hand it will not be considered for MRP as it is already tagged to another process.

Did you look at the Planned Orders after you ran the Net Requirements? Or did you only look after you ran the plan as Net Requirements will create planned order lines as well.

Might also be worth having a look at this blog, it covers one of the possible scenarios.

Just a couple of things as a starter.

    Kind Regards,

    Craig
