I have started to use the new CU7 AXBUILD tool for doing server side X++ compiles. It is working great!

Is there a command line tool to do the full CIL Gen also ?

This would further automate the build process.

Start AX client with -startupcmd=CompileIL (works in all versions of AX 2012).

You're not the first one creating automated builds of AX - use a search engine to find some prepared scripts.

I thought that there may be a way to do this powershell outside of the AX client.

We will go with the way that you suggested.
