BizApps Points for Customers with EA

Has anyone had success getting points for the business applications designation with a customer who has an EA? We are working with a customer to implement Dynamics 365 sales but they have an EA for licensing. To my knowledge, when I have tried in the past, we cannot get CPOR, DPOR, or PAL because we are not purchasing the licensing directly. If anyone has experience getting points to reflect under the BizApps designation for an implementation or support of Dynamics for a customer who has an EA for licensing, insight on the process you followed to successfully align those points would be appreciated!

BizApps Points for Customers with EA

Obtaining BizApps points for a customer with an Enterprise Agreement (EA) can be tricky since Microsoft typically reserves Customer-Partner of Record (CPOR), Digital Partner of Record (DPOR), or Partner Admin Link (PAL) options for direct licensing agreements.

    1. Work with Microsoft Partner Center Support:

      • Reach out to Partner Center support with details of your engagement. Sometimes, exceptions are made or alternative arrangements suggested for partners supporting EA customers. Providing detailed documentation on your project scope, implementation, and support services might help justify the points.
    2. Consider Claiming Influence Points:

      • If your organization has significantly influenced the Dynamics 365 solution adoption, explore Microsoft's Partner Influence Program. While this doesn’t always count directly toward BizApps points, it can sometimes open up discussions on awarding points for other contributions.
    3. Utilize Microsoft’s Partner Enablement Programs:

      • Engage with your Microsoft Partner Development Manager (PDM) if available. PDMs can sometimes assist in aligning customer projects under recognition frameworks like BizApps, even if they’re EA-based, particularly if they’re high-value or strategic implementations.
    4. Showcase the Implementation in Co-Sell Programs:

      • Microsoft Co-Sell programs sometimes allow additional opportunities to log customer engagements and gain visibility. While this isn’t a direct route to points, building a co-sell case with detailed ROI metrics can sometimes allow PDMs or partner support to allocate recognition within BizApps.
Each case may vary for some partners working with EA customers.
