Run report to file and the error "The directory ... does not exist." is displayed

Our user group is able to run reports to screen and save the file to a mapped network drive or their desktop on the terminal server.  They can also create files outside of AX and save to the these locations.  When the attempt to run a report to file to the same location, the error "The directory ... does not exist." is displayed.

Have we missed a setting or permission?

    Hi J-AX,

It can be related to or the use of a driveletter which is not known on a server or the AOS user has no access rights on these folders.

As the message sais not exist, I think you can try specifying an UNC path like \\servername\directory.

    Hi J-AX,

Yes Andre is right. You need to use the UNC path here which is the path to the shared folder on AOS server. I was getting the same error when trying to access a csv file placed on client computer, but when I place the file under shared folder on AOS server, the issue was resolved.

    Thanks,

    Baber

    Hi Andre & Baber,

Unfortunately we are specifying the UNC path and the error is still displayed.  Specifically we are trying to run customer statements.  If the user is a local admin, there seems to be no issue, however we do not want to have all users as local admins on the terminal server.  Any other ideas of what might be causing this?

If local admin is able to access this path then it seems the permission issue on particular path where user wants to save this file. Assign write permission to the user on that path. Also check the user permissions in terminal server.

    Hello J-AX,

I am facing the same scenario.  Can you please tell me if you resolved this issue and if so, how did you resolve.  I am assuming there was some permissions that needed to be updated on the terminal server?

Quick update to this forum post.  I applied code from KB3012966 and it has resolved the error message I was receiving.  My scenario was sending my AR customer statement to a PDF.
