Are you talking about a "File" column, or something else? Traditionally, images would be stored in one of three ways in CRM.
In a note attachment on the timeline of a record
In a "File" type column
In SharePoint through the integration
None of these three really give you a great preview or show the image. For that, you will need to use a custom PCF control such as Attachment Gallery | PCF Gallery. Be wary of storing too much information directly in CRM. Of all storage options, it is by far the most expensive. I will always recommend that anything other than one-off file storage either happen in SharePoint directly, or that you have some way to archive to SharePoint after a specified amount of time or you will find yourself running out of database size and paying more.
