Planning worksheet filters for MPS and MPR calculation

can you advice me how could exclude some warehouse locations and bin contents from the MPS and MRP calculation?

i use a couple of bin contents to separate returns or expired items, but haven't seen how could exclude them from calculation

i've tried to activate a parameter into the manufacturing setup (use forecast on locations), using the location filter of  "total limits to" included on the regenerative calculation plan, but exlude all bins contents for the location filtered, no selective bins content exclusion is allowed

Are you using SKU (by item and location) wise planning?

Vishal, thanks for your attention, i was out of the office for a while,

In fact, we handle the same SKU in all locations and their own locations, but are separated in locations depending on the treatment that will give them.

For example , there may be 100 units of sku # 002 at the location "Sales" and its bin " Finished product ", another 100 units of the same sku at the location "Quality Control" and other 50 units in the location "Returns".

Then for the purpose of planning , I would not want the existence of the 50 units have in " Returns "

was used for the MRP and MPS calculation because it is usually unrecoverable product.

Have you created StockKeeping Units for individual items? or you are managing planning at Item Level?

I think, if you look at managing your planning at Stockkeeping level, it should meet your requirement to an extent.

If not, you need to go with customizing planning engine to exclude certain locations or bins from the calculation, however it would be really complex job.

thanks Vishal, i've tested creating a production forecast by location, then using the "limit totals" into the planning engine, but it considers just the forecast for the specified location, taking the available inventory for all locations. I mean filters does not were made to exclude existence, only forecast.

also, i made a stockkepping unit for an item in order to tested, so i could'nt see any difference over calculation.

Bin contents would not be excluded however you may able to use the inventory of specific locations only and can exclude certain locations inventory by managing proper SKU.

In typical scenario, when you have multiple warehouses, planning should run independently and should not consider the inventory from all the locations. Hence defining the right setups at stockkeeping level should solve your issue.

Can you share some sample scenario and related setups for your requirement in bit more detail?

planning-example.pngVishal, here you are some shapes as manufacturing setup, stockkeeping setup, production forecast and coments over the case.

i tink, our planner have to take special care and consider the real available inventory in order to adjust the planning worksheet proposal using as much he could, the customizing planning engine as you've suggested before, don't you?
