Power BI tiles in custom dashboards for Dynamics 365 Sales

Hello,

I am trying to create a custom personal dashboard within Dynamics 365 sales. I have connected Power BI and I want to create a dashboard view that allows me to select tiles I'm most interested in. When I go to create this dashboard the tiles are not available. Only a tile embedding the entire out of the box power BI sales analytics report populates. I want to be able to select just one tile such as "Open Count" and then combine it with other tiles.

You can see there is no option for individual tiles, only the workspace itself.

Can you help me get access to the tiles and not the whole report?

It should give me an option like this one I found on a youtube video.

Thank you so much!

RE: Power BI tiles in custom dashboards for Dynamics 365 Sales

I figured this out on my own. If your freshly integrating power BI with your Dynamics 365 CRM you have to learn the difference between reports and dashboards in Power BI.

If you want the ability to create hybrid dashboards where you can use some of the native dynamics reporting tools and also include some of the Power BI tiles you have to create your own dashboard by pinning tiles to whatever you name it. After you pin all the tiles in Power BI you can go back to dynamics, select new Dynamics 365 dashboard, select the layout. When you get into the designer you can click the power BI tile icons now and select the dashboard you built with all the pinned tiles that interest you. You have the ability to choose each tile in that dashboard individually now.

The key is designing your own dashboard from the tables automatically generated in the sales analytics connector app for Dynamics with Power BI. Once you do that you can go in and make your custom chart if you want.
