Export/Import of Company data from one Nav DB to another

Hello experts,

I am looking into importing a company data from one NAV db to another.  Is this possible without writing SQL script?  There are a lot of tables so I m thinking this is too much work.  We have NAV 2013 R2 version so not sure if it's available yet.  I see it's available in NAV 2018.  Any feedback/suggestions from you would be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
Why not you use configuration packages?
For more details you can have a look at: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/dynamicsnav-2013/jj128092(v=nav.70)

Let me know if that is helpful. Thanks

You can export Company data by using Export Data page functionality as .navdata file:

    If you have NAV 2018:

It depends what you are trying to do exactly, and what exactly data you need to transfer. Also, will this be one-time data transfer or are you building up a periodical data exchange routine?

There are many ways of how to transfer the data.

    - As other members mentioned, you can use configuration packages.

    - Alternatively, you can setup and consume web services, especially if you would need periodical data update.

    - Export to Excel and import to new database is also an option, if you are cutting the database and would like to enter opening balances at certain period into new database.

    - There is also an option to upgrade your current version to 2018 version.

    - Setup I/C data exchange for limited part of the data, if this would cover your needs
