RE: GP reports saving to incorrect network location
Hi,
I agree with Richard... it's a bad practice to use mapped drives, as Windows might drop that mapped drive anytime for any reasons and then not find it when it comes time to use it.. UNC paths are much safer are they don't require a 'permanent' connection (i.e. mapped drive letter).
Are the users only selecting a location ? do they provide a file name ? if not, GP will just default one when the file is generated.
You also show that 'Adobe PDF File' is selected as a format, which means presumably that every user has a full version of Adobe Acrobat PDF Writer installed on their workstation.. this is a rather costly option, as there are cheaper way of generating PDF output (even for free), by not using the "File" option as output, but simply a printer queue defined as PDF (i.e. Microsoft PDF is free and comes pre-installed on every Windows now).
My experience over the years has been to stay away from Adobe products all together when working in GP.. too many troubles with the output and formats generated by GP that Adobe wasn't writing properly to PDF format (even since version 8.x of Adobe).
