Hi All

Just wondering is there a guidance about how to migrate your data from current system to Dynamic 365 for Human Resources ?

Currently we are trying to provision a Trial environment and import our data into it to see how it looks like. But I am kind of lost to where should I start the migration process.

Regards

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Hanru,

First of all, you need to have a list of available data and what features you want to use in Human Resources. You can use the Data management features to import data.

For the workers, you will need titles, position and then the workers with position assignment and contact details. There are various data entities available to complete this job. To learn them, you can export data from the trial first to understand what details are covered with what data entity.

    Hi André

Thank you for your reply. Besides the data migration. Is there any resources that I can reference for the approach to migrate the HR system from local to Dynamic 365 for HR.

    Hello Hanru,

You can log ticket to Microsoft to transfer your trial environment to formal, or you need to follow the way as André Arnaud de Calavon mentioned.

    Hi Hanru

There is no comprehensive reference document as such. Data migration into D365HR can be done using the Data Management feature in the System Administration module of the application. Best approach is to first manually input a complete record each of the various HR records (Employee, jobs, position, etc.) and export the data. That gives you not only the template but the structure and format of the data you require then use that to populate all the other records. Once the templates are populated then you can import.

It's not a complicated process but it wont be straightforward as is always the case with data migration no matter what tool you use.

Best advice is to talk to an expert. I'll be happy to advise if you contact me.

    Kind regards

    Tolu Koya
