Stock count adjustments for Project reserved inventory

Hi,

We have below issue in stock count:

Let us assume that we have a Project ex: PRJ0004 which has Purchase order PO0001 while receiving an item 'ITEM004' (let the quantity be 10 on PO lines)against this PO user has selected 'No' for auto consumption and system has created 'Item requirements' for later consumption.

Now warehouse has started stock counting process and found that ITEM004 is only 8. System will try to post negative adjustment for missing 2. 

Problem in above scenario is Warehouse user cannot post counting journal as 10 is reserved against 'Item requirement' in PRJ0004.

Any suggestions?

    Good morning Krishna,

    Is it an option to post the consumption automatically with the product receipt posting? There is a parameter that can enforce that so that your user cannot select.

    That might be another possible workaround for your projects.

    About the other reservation / counting issues: I don't know if there is a special trick or workaround available. Maybe let's wait for feedback of other community members who might have a deeper insight into this.

    Hi Ludwig,

    I was thinking about the same but from user experience perspective it doesn't sound right and if we try to post Item requirements, item cost gets posted into project but this is a damaged or missing inventory, project manager don't want that.

    Not just Projects scenario we will have same issue in any reservation like back to back orders (Sales order-> Purchase order) as well.

    During Stock count warehouse user tires to do stock count for many items, if one of those items is reserved against a Sales order but physically inventory is damaged/missing counting journal posting fails.
