Sales Analytics Power BI Template - What's the proper way to add more tables to this?

So I love the sample templates created (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales-enterprise/configure-sales-template-apps) as it's a great help with Power BI.  But what is the proper way to add more tables to this report or custom ones?  I was able to make it work by adding Dataverse or Dynamics 365 as the data source, and then adding tables that way, but it's so manual as then you have to manually relate things to the existing report and so on.  I couldn't figure out any way to edit the connection being used in this template report (I also downloaded the pibx file) and to just add more tables.  Is there a proper way to do this, or am I doing it correctly by having to manually add Dataverse or Dynamics 365 as the data source and then manually relating everything?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Please refer to the following documentation to customize the template.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

Sorry I don't see anywhere on that link that specifies how to add a table?  All that link shows is how to edit the template to connect to your own data which I've already done, but I'm asking how do I add additional tables to the report.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

You can customize the template (.PBIX) file in the Power BI Desktop.

Basically, you open the template in Power BI Desktop, Customize the Query (to get your customized tables or fields), and then publish it to Power BI.

The following video is to customize the template of Customer Voice, however, you need to perform similar steps for Sales as well:

Thanks but those links don't answer my question as they skip over the part I need like most guides:

    4. The OOTB app does not have any custom tables and you will need to customize the App. This is now possible by downloading the Power BI report and importing the PBIX file into Power BI desktop.  Use the link below for downloading the Sales Analytics or Process Analytics Power BI report PBIX file.

So these links provide everything except what I need.  Thanks anyway though!

I have exactly the same problem - trying to add custom fields and tables to the OOB Sales Analytics pbix.

My issue is compounded by an error when attempting to connect to the data source,  "The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid. Error: The type Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.opportunity has conflicting definitions for the property new_opportunity_opportunity."

There is no field of that name in the Opportunity entity:

How, then do I add a custom table (or fields) to the Sales Analytics pbix?

    Thanks
