MT940 - Import using DMF data entity possible?

Hi Experts,

Please suggest, share your experience for this task.

The Bank statement import using format MT940 set up as per Microsoft document (msdnshared.blob.core.windows.net/.../Microsoft-Dynamics-AX-Bank-statement-import-setup-for-MT9401.pdf )

This allows users to upload bank statements successfully.

Is it possible to upload MT940 bank statements directly using DMF project created by above setup? using Recurring integration api?

Look forward to your inputs.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Jags0101,

I haven't done this with MT940 files, but I think it should work with the recurring integrations as described in the documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../recurring-integrations

    Hi,

Have a look at my blog post d365foe.blogspot.com/.../how-to-import-bank-statements-from.html about importing bank statements using Power automate and Recurring integration.

    Thanks Andre.

The DMF Project created has XML as datasource but the MT940 file is not an XML file (its .txt). It may not be possible to load MT940 file using DMF project.

In your Blog, the bank statements were .csv files, right? Was this matching to Project BankStmt? Composite data entity will need xml datasource? I may be missing something, please let me know.

    Hi,

It is absolutely possible to import it using DMF project. Have you looked at the link I shared? Have you already configured all the setup required for importing the statement manually? Can you manually import the file? If YES then you can then follow the steps as mentioned above and you should be able to import it using Recurring data job.

Data project created will be for XML and the input file will be txt. As a part of statement import configuration, you would add XSLT transformation files. Those same files would be used for transformation from TXT to XML in data project.

Data project will look something like below:

and when you go to View map -> Transformation tab it will have XSLT transformations

    Thanks Vinit,

Yes, with setup, am able to manually import the file (has .txt extension).

I will try with "<Batch><![CDATA[" before the file content and "]]></Batch>", in the HTTP Post.

    Hello Jags0101,

You can import MT940 sta files into GL journals automatically.

Here are some hints how this can be achieved: dynamicsax-fico.com/.../

    Note:

The process how payments are handled and settled is, however, different from what you can find in the bank module. Yet, maybe that's an alternative for you.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks for your Blog and additional inputs here. Much appreciated.

It is possible to import MT940 (.txt) file using DMF Project created during Bank statement import setup.

Got it working by using: "<Batch><![CDATA[" before the file content and "]]></Batch>", in the HTTP Post, when calling Recurring api.

Sure, I will go through these details.

    Thanks Ludwig.
