Enable Follow/Unfollow functionalityon Contact or Account entity grid

Hello CRM 365 Experts,

For the standard entities like Account and Contact, the Follow/Unfollow button is enabled on record form. Is it possible to enable it on views like Active Contacts/Account so that the user can select records to follow.

I know this is working for custom entity by activating Activity Feeds Configuration. But I tried the same approach for the standard entities and it did not work.

What is the possible way to do this?

Regards,

Jolas365

    Hello Mehdi,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

Is there no way to have it enabled, even programmatically?

I'm wondering why Microsoft disabled this in UCI.

What if the contacts o accounts or leads are derived from bulk upload, so the user will have to go through each individual record which will be very time-consuming.

    Regards,

    Jolas365

I don't know is its possible to implement this functionality using some support code. I've never worked with this feature before.

    Good luck !

    Hello,

In the UCI we can use Ribbon Command Checker to help us troubleshooting the ribbon issues.

Adding in the end of the url the following “&flags=FCB.CommandChecker=true&ribbondebug=true”

    Examplehttps://<ORGNAME>.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx?appid=16063a8f-6dc9-e911-a980-000d3a3b535a&pagetype=entitylist&etn=account&flags=FCB.CommandChecker=true&ribbondebug=true

    Result:

     pastedimage1594333993347v1.png

In this case we can see the Follow button is hidden:

    pastedimage1594336711216v3.png

This was considered a bug and it schedule to be resolved until the end of the month.

    Hello Ana,

I used Ribbon Command Checker in our Quality instance and got the following:

    msdyn.ActivityFeeds.IsEntityWallEnabledActive- Skipped

instead of the Enable Rule being set to False.

Doe it mean we can still enable it?

    Regards,

    Hello,

There is nothing we can do to workaround the issue.

If you go to "Button properties" tab, you can see the Solution layers of the button, and in the fact is a system solution that is hidden the button.
