Add contacts to Marketing List

  1. We have just started to use the Microsoft CRM solution in our company, and we are trying to make a Marketing List. We are able to add companies from a certain city to the list, but we would like to add contacts working for the various companies, and avoid bringing those who do not want to receive newsletters.

So say that we have Company A, B, C and D that is relevant for us. Each of those has 10 employers. We would like to add those 10 employers from each company, so that we end up with 40 people on our list. How do we do that?

  2. Also, there seems to be an issue when searching for contacts. If we want a list out of people registered in our country, we only get about 240 people, where there should be thousands. What can be the problem?

  3. Last but not least, is it possible to change the sales responsible person for a set of customers in one operation? Say that one of our sales persons has 20 customers, and quits working for us. Then those 20 customers should be transferred to another sales responsible.

Thanks!

I should add that #1 is a dynamic list, and it should include the categories "Client", "Prospect", and "Vendor"

    Hello Anne.

    1. When you create a marketing list you have to choose the member type for the list. The member type can be account, contact or lead. But only one of them per Marketing list. In your case you have to select the entity contacts (employees) and create a search with help of the advanced find. Finish. :)

    2. Are you sure your Advanced find is correct?

    3. This can be done via different solutions... JS, Plug-In... or via workflow! Create a workflow on the entity and use "Update".

Thanks for your answer! However, I guess I should try to explain a bit better. When I select "Targeted at: Contact" (which I assume is what I want, since I do not want only companies?), I cannot use "Category" as a field. And I want category in order to be able to pick Prospect etc.

If i select "Targeted at: Account" instead, I am able to pick Category, but then I am left with companies, and not contacts. Does this make sense at all?

I am completely new at this, so bear with me :)

Please find the responses to your query below.

    1.       In order to add contacts to a marketing list that are related to some accounts and also excluding the contacts that do not wish to receive the marketing materials you can use follow the below steps.

    a)      Go to Marketing List and create a new marketing list.

    b)      Click the Add members button and select the “Add using Advanced Find”.

    c)       Select the below query to add the selected members to the marketing list.

    2.       For the last option you can use the assign option available in CRM. Select the records whose owner(sales responsible) has left and assign those records to another sales responsible.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,
    Sam

Have a look at this screenshot. :) In this advanced find I use the regarding entity account to filter values of field CATEGORY.

    Hello,

    1. You can use advanced find and can add members from your list accordingly (I hope you know this, but just want to mention, you can create marketing list for just one entity at a time)

    2. How you are doing this ??

    3. Search your customer using advanced find and select all the customer use Assign button to assign these customer to other user.

    Hope it will help.

    Thanks

    1) Build a Dynamic Marketing List Targeting Contacts, in your marketing list criteria select "Accounts (Primary Contact)" and under that, "Address 1: City" "Equals" "City XYZ". And other criteria such as, Marketing Material Equals "Send" ...

    2) Not enough information on this one

    3) I am not sure about this one, but I believe this can be done though an advanced find and a bulk edit
