Hopefully someone can help.
Since BC changed the way it stores vendor pricing I no longer have the ability to change vendor prices in bulk (the edit in excel option is not available).
I tried using a configuration package to update the Price List Line table but this doesn't look right either as the records requires a unique key from the Price List Header table and this process is not suitable for our front end users who will be managing prices.
The only examples I have found show prices being input one at a time (tedious) or using a percentage price increase to update items on mass, however we do not update based on a %, we are given new pricelist and we need to update thousands of prices at once.
The edit in excel was a great feature in the previous pricing version which would handle this but since it is not available in the "New Sales Pricing Experience" can anyone advise how this is done now?
So votes are going well now. Our team has found the edit in excel functionality is there but not fully developed yet. In BC, if you go to...
Items, Prices & Discounts, Purchase Prices – then on that page go Edit in Excel from the share symbol, even though the page may be blank or filtered to that selected part, however the excel will load all the prices.
Unfortunately, the excel will not allow updates or additions when publishing.
Hopefully fixed/fully developed functionality will come out in next major release in March.
Hello,
I just did and I will ask the support team to enter votes as well.
Thanks.
Inge..I'm also struggling with new price list not having edit in excel and interested in your custom code
Thanks Marco, Inge has already started the new feature idea/request and I have added my vote. Please feel free to support this and help get it on the roadmap, thanks.
Thanks for reply, would prefer this to be in the standard product rather than a custom function. Slightly concerning that Microsoft would not include the ability to update purchase prices on mass in the new version, this is surely a huge oversight on their part. Is there a way of knowing if/when the edit in excel (or something similar) will be introduced as we already have this feature enabled but find it unusable as is.
I had the same struggle as you. I did not find a better solution than to customize a function for importing new prices from an Excel worksheet. If you are interested i can probably share my code for this.
I have also submitted an idea to Microsoft to add this functionality in the standard product.
So you can follow the link and vote for that idea if you agree with me.
