User not authorized error

Posted on by

I have users who are getting the following error:

"User 'xyz' is not authorized to select a record in table ProjPostTransView.  Request denied."

"Cannot select a record in Project transactions(ProjPostTransSaleView), Access Denied: You do not have sufficient authorization to modify data in database"

Not everyone is getting the error.   I have done my due diligence and found the answer regarding AOSAuthorization.  But it is set to "None" on the view.  I looked at the tables that make up the view and they are None too.

I've confirmed no customizations to any of those tables.   I have not yet tried to restart the AOS, but will try that tonight.  No assurance that will work, but I have no better plan at the moment.

    Hi Brian

Probably restart AOS will fix your issue.

    Hi Brian,

Please inform if the AOS restart solved this issue. Otherwise, please specify if these users do have the same role as other persons or if they are different. Then also mention which form or report was opened.

Restarting the AOS did not change the behavior.  This user has the following roles

    AP Clerk

    AP Payments Clerk

    Buying Agent

    Cost Clerk

    Proj Accountant

    Proj Assistant

    Purch Agent

    Purch Manager

    Receiving Clerk

    Sales Clerk

    Shipping Clerk

    System User

    Warehouse Worker

I have discovered that the issue lies in the Fact Boxes to the right.  If they are open the error appears.  If they are closed, the error doesn't happen.

    Hi Brian,

You can add the table on e.g. the Proj assistant role by overriding the permissions. This will solve the issue. From the Security roles form it is possible to open the form for override permissions.

I don't know which factbox could cause it. You also did not mention which form was opened and if you have any customizations.

    Dear Brain

have you please verified this using systems administration role? if its working with administration account then there should be Aos Authorization enable on table. kindly review the complete table you find AOS Authorization property YES on one of the fields.

For resolution your can review my this post
