Hi.

I have installed 10 AOS on the Prod environment.

Question: ¿Do I have to Compile for each AOS Server?

I mean first connect to AOS Server with AXClient and do a Full Compil. Then Connecto to AOS02 with AXClient and Do Full Compil and so on?

Thanks

Best Regards.

    Never do the compile with all the AOS services started.

    The best practice that always works for me is :

    - stop in sequence all the services (wait until they are completely shut down before moving to the next);

    - do the compilation on one; you must have all the AOS services stopped if you are using the parallel compiler, or if you're using the ax client internal compiler, have one one AOS;

    - perform a FULL CIL;

    - start in sequence the rest of the AOS services (wait before one starts completely before moving to the next);

    I just realized that this is of course the proper way for AX 2012. I see you've tagged your question as current version which means the new AX (aka 7). If this is 2012 please tag correctly your question and use my answer.

    So is it necessary to compil each one of them?

    In the order that you suggest of course, but is it necessary do the process for each one?

    Thanks

    No. Only on the one instance, as I was mentioning. Remember, the code (of the app) is stored in the model db. That is shared among the AOSs. So, ne need to compile on each instance, you would be compiling the same code over again.

    And, to highlight better, if you use the parallel compiler (external AxBuild) you are doing that with all the AOS services stopped, which means that the compilation is done for all of them.

    If you use the recommended procedure, i.e. modelstore deployment, you don't need any compilation at all in production environment. People usually prefer that their production environments don't waste time with compiling, which can be done elsewhere.
