
How does prospects fit into the sales process?
Whenever I create a Lead, Prospect record is getting created. However, I qualify a Lead and generate opportunity from it. Would like to know when to use Prospect. Appreciate your suggestions

Normally a Prospect refers to Possible entity(Customer or Vendor) or you can say Prospect mean Possible Customer, in terms of sales.
So when we have to work on a Opportunity, which will be converted to Quotation/Order, Possibly, we use Prospect (if there is no customer in our records for this party).
If we have opportunity against the Existing entity/customer, we use already existing customer, otherwise we use Prospect.
