negative inventory available with uncheck the check box of physical negative inventory in item model group

Hi All

I have query in which my inventory of stock item's are negative where as i have not selected the checkbox of physical negative inventory?

one more thing i want to mention here that i have not selected the "physical inventory" and "financial inventory" in storage dimension but my "location" is active.

if this is this is the reason of negative inventory of stock item's by not selecting the  "physical inventory" and "financial inventory" in storage dimension but my location is active then please somebody elaborate the system reaction with this condition?

Kindly find the below images and provide the reason and solution to remove the negative inventory of item's?

    Thanks, Guy. All these are marked as not active for physical negative inventory.

    I will ask our developers to debug it.

    Hi Yelena,

    I don't think I can give you a definitive answer, whether it is a bug, or a customisation or expected.

    There are many other places which look to have some influence on negative inventory.

    Item model group and Storage / Tracking dimension group, as already discussed.

    Warehouse: Physical negative inventory.

    Item: Allow pick work center negative.

    Location profile: Allow negative inventory

    Location directive: Allow negative inventory

    Production: Pick negative (e.g. at Start or on Picking list journal header)

    However, I think most of those also require the Item model group to allow negative inventory. Perhaps I am wrong, and you have one of those set?

    Hi Guy,

    Physical negative inventory is not allowed on Item Model Group. And my client does not need to have negative inventory.

    I am trying to figure out what setup causes the negative inventory for these 3 Items. Can it be a bug or is it false setup?

    Hi Yelena,

    If all Active lines on your Storage dimension group have Physical inventory ticked, then also check the Item model group. It has the setting to allow Physical negative inventory.

    Hi Guy,

    what causes going negative at the location level with the Storage Dimension group setup mentioned above?

    I have a similar issue, the setup is almost the same but my Physical inventory is ticked.

    Negative physical inventory is not activated at any level. But I get it when RAF - a few items in the formula produce negative inventory after consumption (manual flushing principle for them). What causes it?

    Hi Mohd,

    With the setup of your Storage dimension group, it will be possible to go negative at the Location level, as long as you do not go negative at the Warehouse level.

    e.g.

    this would be allowed:

    Item Whse Loc Qty
    ItemA 11 A 10
    ItemA 11 B -5

    but these would not:

    Item Whse Loc Qty
    ItemA 11 A -10
    ItemA 11 B 5

    Item Whse Loc Qty
    ItemA 11 A 10
    ItemA 21 A -5

    Blank issue/receipt is also interesting, in combination with Physical inventory un-ticked. It means you can do things like this:

    Item Whse Loc Qty
    ItemA 11 A 10
    ItemA 11 -10

    This is also possible if the items were not linked to the correct item model group, or it was changed.

    One more thing i want to mention that most of the entries which are making item into negative stock done by  inventory adjustment.

    So please suggest the reason and solution?

    Thanks for reply.No ,anybody has not changed item model group setup .

    But is there any relation with my storage dimension group which has not selected the "Physical inventory" and "Finance inventory" for Location?

    Is it possible that somebody temporarily changed your item model group setup to get a transaction posted, which caused the inventory to become negative?

    Do you have the database log enabled for the item model groups?
