 Hi All,
 
I have a customer that is still using FRX V6.7. and who has lost the password of its ADMIN username that is required to modify the currency rate values from inside the FRX that became a must to convert their FRX reports and accounts amounts based on the actual official rate declared recently by the government.
 
according to many researches we did, we concluded that once the password is lost and the password of FW company is not still blank, we will get stuck and we must contact MS in order to help us by providing a /PASSWORD OF THE DAY/ that allows to reset the Admin password only once..  Unfortunately, this version of FRX is not anymore supported by MS.
 
do you propose any solution or suggest any workaround to reset the ADMIN password and resolve the problem ?
 
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

    Have you tried to open a copy of your FRx database with MS Access ?  FRx is based on .mdb files from Microsoft Access, and as such you should be able to open them with Access. If there is a password protection, it could be cracked with an Access DB pwd cracker quite easily.. 
    I remember years ago having dealt with a similar case, but don't remember the exact steps to get to the data.
     
    One thing you should consider is to upgrade your FRx solution to Management Reporter (aka MR 2012) which comes free with GP and has a migration wizard from FRx to MR 2012. 
    MR is a full SQL database application and much more stable and secure than FRx.

    Thanks Mr. Bucher  for your answer and you advice.. I will try to provide a cracker for the Access Database.. even if i find a Cracker i will need for the details to know what to be modified from the Database side and in its objects to reset the ADMIN password.
