Although it is not possible to change already selected Content Settings in the live journey, you can still update the selected Content Settings record if needed (by navigating to Content Settings area and modifying selected record there).

Would updating already selected Content Settings record work in your case or would you still need to change Content Settings in a live journey for some reason? If the latter, could you please share your scenario / business need? (that would help us improve the product).

Values of content settings will be placed to content of marketing email at send time, in other word, when an email is already to be sent, its subscription center will already be set to actual link instead of initial dynamic expressions.
In a word, what recipients can see in opened marketing email have been configured once a content settings is applied to customer journey.
Therefore, the field will stay locked. It doesn't make sense even if we unlock it and change its value.
In addition, due to the design, if we edit a content-settings record later, all pending and future email messages will automatically use the latest values.
