"Work ID not valid" error during Cluster Picking - AX 2012 R3

Hi,

I have created two sales orders and have added two items (001 and 002) on both the sales orders (S1: 001 item/10 cases, 002 item/20 cases and for S2: 001 item/12 cases, 002 item/22 cases) . In the warehouse item 001 is on location A with 35 cases and item 002 is on location B with 50 cases. When work is created for both the orders for both of them item 001 is to be picked from location A and 002 is to be picked from location B. 1 work is created for both the sales orders with 2 picks and 1 put each.

When I try to create the cluster for picking i get an error "Work ID not valid" for both the sales orders work.

However, when I create 2 sales orders with 1 item each the cluster picking works - as described in the implementation guide.

Can anyone please help how to resolve this error.

You have not completed the created work yet, right? It is in status Open?

And all work lines have locations assigned, both for pick and put?

Yes. This is correct Ivan. Am I doing something wrong or is this system design?

No, it seems all right, if the above 2 conditions are OK, you should not be getting that message.

Did you find a solution for this issue?  I am running into a similar error going through the WHS implementation guide.  I setup two sales orders for different customers.  The quantity is 1 each per sales order.  The inventory is reserved.  I confirmed the work is generated, but am receiving an error when performing the "Cluster Pick Create" option on the Outbound WMDP menu.  The error I am getting is "The work class is not valid". Thank you.

Disregard.  I updated the mobile device menu item to allow the correct work class.

    Hi

I also have the same problem while processing cluster picking. i.e. when I try to add a work with multiple lines to cluster, I get the error "work id is not valid" whereas when I try to add works of single line I do not get that error and work gets added to cluster. Another observation, with works of multiple lines, the put line does not contain a suggested location, I hope that does not cause any problem?

I am also struggling to work further after adding the work to a cluster, what's the next step to process the cluster pick? and how? could not find any other link on HHT for processing the work which were added to cluster.

Issue: "... works of multiple lines, the put line does not contain a suggested Location."

Solution: You have to create a second location directive for put work type, with the same setup like the first one, but you have to tick the field multiple SKU (WHSLocDirTable.MultiSKU).

If you do this, you also don't getting the message in mobile device "The work id is not valid", if you want to assign the work to the cluster.

By the way: The error message in mobile device which is displayed if the work ist blocked, is "The current work is frozen".
