Stock Keeping Unit in Business Central

Hi Everyone,

I would like to know when to consider creating a stock keeping unit.

I have variants for items and multiple locations with advance warehouse enabled.

I would like to know whether I can define vendor price and customer price in SKU rather than using price list.

Thanks you!
I have the same question (0)

You Can create using the Config package or by item card or just direct SKU page

    Thanks

Hi, As far as I know, SKU does not support vendor price and customer price settings. If you need it, you can contact partners for customization.
PS: Missing a feature? Post or vote for ideas on: aka.ms/BCIdeas

    Thanks

    Hi,

You can Mange the Cost but not the Price from SKU's.

    1) You should already be using SKUs based on your current use of BC.
    2) You should be using Price Lists to control the pricing and costs for Items, as it provides far greater flexibility and a single point of entry.

Is there a reason you don't want to use Price Lists?

    SKUs are best for planning.
Customer Price is best to use the sales price with variant combination if you use variants.

Like Yun Zhu you can reach out to you partner if there is a need for business to setup price based on location & variants.

You can use most of the features with SKUs, as they provide a separate card for the same item based on location and variant. However, some settings remain global, and this falls into that category. The price list does not handle this combination.

In Business Central, you create a Stockkeeping Unit (SKU) when an item needs specific settings per location or variant (like replenishment system, lead time, reordering policies, or stock levels).

SKUs are not meant for pricing. Vendor and customer prices are always controlled by the price list functionality, not by the SKU card.
