Hi all
We're in the process of implementing Field Service and one of our requirements is for a warehouse to customer product shipping request. In our current system somebody will send, via a PDF attached to an email, a list of parts (products) to be sent from a particular warehouse directly to the customer site. These parts are used in work orders. A fake delivery warehouse is used to move the stock from out of the warehouse once the goods have been marked as shipped. The customer is then contacted a few days later to confirm delivery of the items after which the work order may be booked. In Field Service we can of course do inventory transfers and have a similar main warehouse and a fake warehouse but the stock is transferred immediately and not when the goods are marked as dispatched. I've considered using some custom tables to create the requests and then using a plugin or Flow to create some manual inventory journals to transfer stock once marked as shipped but wondered if there is a better solution using more out of the box functionality that I haven't considered?
My thanks in advance for any suggestions anyone has.
Luke
Its probably better to create a 'shipping request' entity and 'shipping request product' entity which will hold the field status of 'dispatched' then when the Shipping Request record is marked as dispatched you can trigger a creation of an inventory transfer and copy the 'shipping request products' to inventory transfer products which will trigger the move of stock
