Client is on Feature Pack and is looking to change storage dimension group on many items to remove serial requirement and only track at Site, Warehouse and Location level. Client is using standard cost. All inventory is being removed on said items. Is an inventory close still required to settle financial transactions when standard cost is used?
Do all open transactions like sales order and purchase orders also have to be removed before the dimension change can occur or just removal of all inventory?
By performing inventory close will we alleviate the "The new dimension group cannot be assigned. Other financial dimensions apply and physical inventory transactions might exist and/or financial inventory transactions are not fully settled." error that I am seeing referenced on many posts.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lynn,
Inventory closing is not used for standard cost. This job is bypassing those items. The message you see is related to other items which might be received bit the invoice is not posted yet. When the ivoice is oosted next period it can do the full settlement.
