How to create a journey that emails a segment in batches

Say I have a segment for all my contacts over a certain age and it roughly has 100,000 members.

I want to send an email to my segment by creating a new journey, however I want to send the email out in batches.  For example:

  • Week 1: Send email to the first 20k members of the segment (0-20k)
  • Week 2: Send email to the next 20k members of the segment (20k-40k)
  • Week 3: Send email tot he next 20k members of the segment (40k-60k)
  • And so forth until all 100k members have been emailed

Is there a way to do this?  We want to email in batches to help alleviate the call volume we receive from this campaign.

    Thank you for your query.

    To my knowledge, this is not achievable exactly the way you want it.

    What you can do is Create separate segments and journeys to send emails in batches. In the same journey you can only divide audience into A/B segments.

    Hi,

    You can use the split feature.

    The Split tile adds a fork to the customer journey pipeline, sending a random selection of contacts along each available path. 

    Please refer to the following customer journey.

    You can adjuste the proportion of flow to each channel.
