Add 2 quick view forms for the Contact entity into Case form

Posted on by 40

HI,

I have added 2 quick view forms of contact to case form. I had to choose to do this, because one of the quick view is shown as a card - that gives the ability to click and navigate to contact record and also the card shows the primary contact prominently on the case form. Because of that, it only allows 4 fields. We just wanted a 5th one. So I created another quick view with just one field. But that makes it behave very weird.

  • On load of the case form or on refresh, this pick list doesn’t show the actual value from the pick list, instead just shows “--".
  • When I go into contact form for this record, I see the same “--” in that record as well. Note that this had a value selected.
  • Just refreshing the contact form, brings back the value (Email, None or Phone).
  • Navigating back to the case form, now shows this value.
  • Upon refreshing the case form, the value is gone again, from case form and from the contact form.

Any ideas what could be going wrong?

Thank you!

Yeah, Thanks Leah. This is what I want to achieve, but its not working this way in my setup. When I first open the case, I see all values like you have. But then I just refresh the case form (not the page), the field values from the second QV disppear. Then if I click on the Contact Card (Susan), then that opens in a new tab with all the values. Then when I nagivate back to the case form, I see all the values in the second QV.

    Hi itsdeshpande,

Do you mean that the second quick view form that not show as card don’t show field successfully?

I have tested it according your needs, it works successfully, not appear issues that you provide.

So you can do following to test again.

1.You can add the 5th field that you need to the quick view form that show as card, and put it in the 4th on the form, then save and publish it to check it

2.you can select another field to the second quick view form to check it.

3.you can uncheck ‘display as card in quick view form’ option, if you want to click and navigate to contact record, you can click Contact lookup field to achieve same goal

4.you can delete them and create then again to test

5.if all can’t do it, you can change another browser or use privacy mode or clear browser cache to try again.

Thanks Khalid. But in that link its not adding the QV form to display as card. If I do display as card, then it allows to add more fields but it shows only 4. That's why the second QV.

You should be able to accomplish this by a single quick view form, please see the guide below on how to create them. Make sure you publish your chances and select the correct lookup and related entities to avoid the problem you are seeing in the second quick view.
