Hello Team,

Could you provide an example how to create a web-service extension to receive payments from Microsoft Dynamics GP?

Is it possible to create an extension using Java language?
If yes, could you provide an example to write extensions using Java?

    Hello Andrew,

I guess I can't say that I've actually heard of anyone looking to extend GP Web Services.  The only information I have on it would be from the Web Services Programmer's Guide that you've already referenced.  Perhaps one of the developers in the community have worked with extensions in the past and can provide some guidance.

To answer your question, we have had people try to use Java to call GP Web Services, but all we can support is what is in the SDK and that is C#.  It may be possible to use Java, we just wouldn't have any samples to provide.

    Hello Lucas,

    Thank you for the information.

My team started work with web services and found a lot of gaps in web services. For example, payments. Web services don't return all information about payments.

To finish the integration process we want to understand how to use the web service extension, or is possible to receive full information about payments via web services.

As I understood, we cannot use Java language to write extensions. My DEV Team works with the Java language.

Could you please clarify, what other options can there be to get all the information on the payment?

We do not consider the option of accessing the client's database due to the fact that the client does not want to open access.

Lucas, did you have time to see my questions?

    Hello Andrew,

I'm just seeing the update now, thanks for pinging me.

If the default Web Services isn't pulling the data that you need that is where some kind of extension probably needs to come into play.  I can't think of any other functionality in Dynamics GP that you could use to pull/push this kind of information other than a direct call to SQL Server, which I understand is not desirable.

Sorry I don't have more information to offer.  Perhaps someone else in the community has another option they can recommend.

    Lucas,

Thank you a lot for the information.

    I appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Andrew
