How can I import Bulk Notes into the contract entity?

Hello,

I am trying to export out all the text in the internal updates field (free text field) and import into a new note as there are many old comments that we don't want showing up in our reporting.

have seen various posts on "Importing Bulk Notes on Accounts" but I need to do this is the contract entity. What makes it more difficult is that we have renamed this to the project entity

There have been may unsuccessful attempt to do mapping different fields, sometimes it duplicate the actual project.

I have been able to this successfully in the Accounts entity but not the project (contract) entity

I'd like to do this in the D365 web interface but if not, happy to look at alternatives.

I suggest use Power Automate to update your existing new note to project (contract) entity since PowerAutomate provided an dropdown list which could choose the existing entity directly.

Choose the right trigger based on your excel source file

Choose the Dynamics 365 connector & configure the action

Do a Apply to each iterator for excel records

Refer this for finding a matching record & map, or create it if not available

Map the ready made fields for record creation
