Financial Dimension linked to User or Worker

Hi,

I would like to get your opinion regarding my client's requirement.  They want to tag a financial dimension (e.g. Department) to either User or Worker (whichever is more viable).  As much as possible we don't want to customize it.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Best regards,
Edmond

    Hi Edmond,

Using financial dimensions is a standard on a worker position. You can use this.

As André said "Using financial dimensions is a standard on a worker position. You can use this."

also, you can create financial dimension as you need based on customer requirement, but you need to optimize it

    Hi Andre,

Are you referring to the Worker Position Assignments then Create a position and define the Financial dimension thru it?

How about via User, is it possible to link it to a Financial dimension?

    Best regards,

    Edmond

    Hi Edmond,

The path is correct. You can also go to the position directly.

There is no standard option to specify financial dimensions on a user.

    Hi Andre,

Once the financial dimension is linked to the position or worker, will it carry the costs from the position or worker to the linked financial dimension? If yes, what costs will be used for calculation?

Or is it just a place holder for indicating that a specific position or worker is linked with a cost center/financial dimension and no cost calculation impact??

Thanks for your response in advance.

    Thanks,

    Kamal

    Hi Kamal,

There is no automatic move of costs to the dimensions. The dimensions are defaulted on e.g. a timesheet line or hour journal. Before posting, a user can possibly change it when required. That is the only purpose.
