Testing AIF Service Using Visual Studio Command Prompt

Hi All,

I'm trying to test my custom service using Visual Studio Command Prompt.

After running this command

wcftestclient http://[domainname]/DynamicsAx/Services/BTRFTestServiceGroup

It starts the WCF Test Client. But then I got this error:

The type or namespace name 'Application' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

Any idea what went wrong? Thank you!

    Hi,

    It is just a tool to call your web service and it's nothing with the error.
    1. Brower the service URL directly in IE, can you visit it?
    2. refer to http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/uploadfile/shinuraj587/testing-wcf-service-using-test-client-wcftestclient-exe/

    I have tested this on Standard Microsoft provided AX2012R3CU9 VHD. It is working and I found no wrong anywhere while using WcfTestClient manually or using VS cmd.

    Hi Ada,

    I browsed the URL. It gives me this XML

    This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

    <wsdl:definitions xmlns:wsdl="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../" xmlns:wsx="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../mex" xmlns:i0="http://tempuri.org" xmlns:wsu="docs.oasis-open.org/.../oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd" xmlns:wsa10="www.w3.org/.../addressing" xmlns:wsp="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../policy" xmlns:wsap="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../policy" xmlns:msc="schemas.microsoft.com/.../contract" xmlns:soap12="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../" xmlns:wsa="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../addressing" xmlns:wsam="www.w3.org/.../metadata" xmlns:xsd="www.w3.org/.../XMLSchema" xmlns:tns="http://tempuri.org/" xmlns:soap="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../" xmlns:wsaw="www.w3.org/.../wsdl" xmlns:soapenc="schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../" name="BTRFTestServiceGroup" targetNamespace="http://tempuri.org/">

    Hi Raymon,

    The service can be visited in IE means your service has been deployed successfully. There may be some issues with WCFTESTCLIENT itself. You can new a project in VS and add your service reference to test it.
