Email duplicate check whenever Lead is created.

Posted on by 24
Hi there,

I have a business requirement that whenever a new lead is created in D365, workflow should be triggered that will check that if new lead's email is in duplicate to any contact's email address and a note should be displayed on the timeline that if there's any email duplication. Similarly, another workflow should be triggered in which new lead's email domain will be checked against customer's email domain to identify any duplications.

I'm unable to identify duplications and also quite confused in the workflow process. If anyone could help or give suggestions in this regards.

P.S: The Email Domain field is created both on Lead and Customer main forms.

Thanks.

    Hi,

You can use Power Automate Flow to implement your needs.

    Customize Note.

Associate the Note with the newly created lead so it will be added to the Timeline.

The final result is shown below.

As for duplicate detection of email domain fields, the flow design steps are similar.
