hi,
most of the text fields have a length of 50. you need to increase the length value.
your description is quite short. do you mean the service invoice page, the report, ... ?
which field is it, the description field?
Its the description of the service item. How can I increase the length?
goto the developer environment, open the object designer, select table 5940 "Service Item". Click on Button "Design" to open the table in design mode. there change the length value of field no. 4 "Description" and save the changes (with compile).
if you do not have a developer license you'll need a nav partner to do that.
alternative option: use field "Description 2", if you need more space for the description. if you do not see that field on the page, you'll need to add that field on page 5980 "Service Item Card".
In NAV most of the description length is limited to 50 characters. Seem the description you have given is longer than the 50 characters and that result a error.
Best way it so add a separate field to the table because changing the description length will cause problems if you do not change the other places which refer the service item description.
Or else you can use the description 02 for this, or ask your NAV partner to add a new field for you.
