Good morning!

I am trying to copy/paste from Excel into Dynamics GP Financial Module with curency 'USD', when my functional currency is 'ARS', but the 'Paste' button is disabled.

Does anyone know if this function applies only to transactions made in functional currency?

Thank you in avanced!

Regards.

I believe the built-in paste does not work with multi-currency or intercompany.

If you feel adventurous, I built an add-in that accomplishes this (with the addition of AP and Sales distribution pasting), however I only tested it with USD&CAD as the currencies but I do not see why it would not work for ARS. Mine will post in the originating amount of whatever currency you select.

Let me know if you have any issues!

    Hi,

You must paste in terms of functional currency.  Once the journal is displayed within the GP window, then change the currency id.

    Thanks,
    Justin

Justin, you are saying that you change the currency flag in Excel to fake it out - then once pasted, change the flag again?

    Or am I missing something?

Hi Bill, I did the following, according to what Justin said:

    - First, I built the excel sheet with my amounts expressed in foreign currency.

    - Then, I pasted it in the journal entry window, in GP, leaving the functional currency as Currency ID (for example, USD).

    - Next, I changed the currency ID to the foreign currency (for example, EUR).

Thanks for the clarification - just what I missed.
