Dear sir/madame,
We have not Production Control yet. We are going to use BOM journal to record the finished products. We will have serveral versions of BOM, is there a way that: we can select the BOM version to use at the time of creating the BOM journal? It means there is no Active BOM version, but we can manually choose the desired BOM version.

You can select any approved BOM both on a Production order (Prod) or when reporting an item as finished (WM).
Yes you can. :)
On the item (released products) you can create as many BOMs as you want. You can approve them and make them available at any time you need to do a Production or report an item as finished. The one that is active is the one that will be default selected but:
1. If you use report as finished from the item card you can Select any of the BOMs that are approved.
2. If you create a Production order for the item you can Select any of the approved BOMs.
Do you mean BOM journal in Warehouse management or in Production control?
If you mean WH, then there is no possibility to select pre defined BOm version.
If you want to create Production order then you can create as many as you want approved versions.
You can have more then one approved BOM and when you create a Production order, you can Select what BOM to use.
