Fixed Assets General Ledger Posting Security Privileges

We have just upgraded from GP 10.0 to GP 2013.  When attempting to use the Lookup function on any field on the Fixed Assets General Ledger Posting window and we are receiving the message " You don't have security privileges to open this window.  Contact your system administrator for assistance".  We believe the user has the necessary Accounting and Fixed Assets security roles/tasks assigned.  Could this be a setup issue with Fixed Assets or GL?

    You need to run the Unassigned Security Operations report (Reports > System > Security) to identify the missing items.  Then you'll need to add them to a security task in GP.  They weren't listed in the "New resources" section of the upgrade documentation.

    This solved the problem.  Thank-you.

    What was the security task you had to add for this user to access the Fixed Assets General Ledger Posting window?

    The windows aren't included in any security task.  You need to run the report mentioned above to see what windows/reports are missing from the tasks and then add them to a security task.

    @RobK,

    Thank you for your quick reponse.  I should add a couple of details unique to my situation.  First, we are on GP 2015 not 2013.  Second, I have (2) users with the same security role who have different access permissions.  One can open and interact with the FA GL Posting window & the other cannot.  This is very confusing to me.  How can it be possible for both users to be assigned the same security role and have different access?

    Also, when I try to run the Unassigned Security Operations report it asks for a report option.  I can't find any information about that online. Tried creating an option, but haven't been able to run the report.  Thanks again for your help GP community.

    Determine if the user's Role is setup correctly. Ensure FADEFAULTUSER* is selected.  Ensure FADEFAULTUSER* is setup correctly.  Double click on the task FADEFAULTUSER*.  This will open the Security Task Setup window.  If are using other Security Tasks for Fixed Assets these would need to be updated.  We selected all Operations functions under each.  You may be more selective based on your security requirements.
