Finding a situation if a Production order is created without complete financial dimensions and then at the time of ending you insert a missing financial dimension, then the system does not recognise and still complaints.
For a standard cost product, if we define all postings for production order to be just between balance sheet accounts (say no specific financial dimensions required). However, being standard cost product, if the production process consumes more or less of any materials or route lines, standard cost variance will rise-Naturally, these impact P&L account which are set to require financial dimensions.
This is required by the system only at the time of Ending -therefore, when the user updates the production order with the required financial dimensions, then the system does not like this and still complaints values for such and such financial dimensions are required.
I find this to be a bug and escalated to Microsoft. Interestingly, they have come back saying " And I have to say this issue is more like by design, and it is lasting since AX 2009, very ancient one.".
I think this is not correct. How could the system allow a production order to be created without necessary financial dimensions. Even if this is allowed, values updated since creating the the production order should be used by the system.
would appreciate if anyone has faced similar situations and have resigned to the fact that MS will not address this.
I am aware that I can handle this by either a) putting default dimension values at the legal entity override b)reverting PO back to Created etc.-But I am more interested this problem being recognised as an issue
Any thoughts, welcome-thanks in advance
