Dynamics 365: Quick find view works different

Hallo everybody,

I'm confuses about the Quick Find View:

- I have two users here: One Admin with role 'System Administrator' and one regular user

- The regular user see's only a part of all opportunities in respect of his business unit

The issue: Both can see and access the same opportunity. But:

- When the Admin is use the Quick Find, he will find this opportunity

- When the user does exactly the same, he will not find this opportunity - regardless of the entered keywords and in every combination - it's every time 'no result'.

I've verified the Quick Find View and there are not filters set.

What can occur this problem?

    Hi,

not sure, but, just to get a bit more details.. Did you try using Advanced Find - can that regular user find the opportunity?

And, then, can the user update the opportunity?(what kind of permissions does the user have on that record?)

It might be due to, regular user might be having lower privilege on Opportunity entity.

and admin has global privilege. Please check security role of regular user and if you want regular user to see all the opportunity give read access to global.

    Thanks,

    Shahbaaz

    Hi Alex,

Advanced Find works fine, the user finds the Opportunity.

The User has Read/Write/Share Permissions on this Opportunity and all works finde.

    Hey,

    the security role is this:

I do not see any problem here. And the user can do all this action, so see and access the opportunity, change it, share to any other user and so so on.

Do you have other regular users who can find that opportunity or is there the same problem for all of them?

There is no field security on the field which you are searching on?

Did you try other search terms (if you have other fields in the quick find fields, try searching on one of the other ones and see if the opportunity shows up)?

Lastly.. you don't have any "retrievemultiple" plugins registered on the opporunity, right?

    Hey everybody,

solution to this: I removed every column in the view and in the find columns section and published this. After this step I re-introduced all the columns and it works.

So I'm fine with this issue. Scary, but I've to say, my experience is often this. You can not trust in Dynamics, sad but true. That's why Salesforce will stay the #1. Sad experience.
