Setting up Invoicing to use D365 Blob Storage

We use Bottomline PrecisionForms to output all our PDF documents to clients. However, we'd like to take advantage of the ability to store PDF copies within D365FO's BLOB storage, so that invoice PDFs are available with the invoice record itself. This should allow us to retain historical invoice layouts if we change the templates in the future.

We can find no instructions online or on YouTube to outline how we enable this functionality on our D365FO cloud instance (we're running 10.0.27 with latest quality updates applied).

Any ideas?

    Hi Ian,

If you are using Bottomline software, wouldn't it be better to contact them for support on this question? I have no experience myself with their solution.

    Hi Ian,

I know that you are using Precision Forms. However, you can check the Docentric print destination video to store the Invoice as an attachment to the related journal record.

You can also reach out if you want to know more.

Done that Andre. We're told it just does it's script work but returns a PDF for D365FO to file away. However, we're told we need to set up ER to help D365FO to send this to the BLOB. At the moment, we're getting strange errors bemoaning the absence of remit_to business purposes (which shouldn't be anywhere near an invoice). Hence asking if there is a guide on how invoice setups are done by default. We've not yet found one.

    Hi Ian,

For your scenario, you can use Print archive improved by Docentric actually for free! It supports filtering by customer account number or invoice ID and storage of archived report documents on Azure Blob storage or SharePoint via pre-configured Document type. Furthermore, you can open it from the Customer card directly and see all outgoing customer documents, including invoices. You can find out more here.

    Kind regards,
    Ana
