Set up email notifications in Talent

I'm trying to set up email notifications for when a team leader has a new leave requsets from an employee and when users has a new task assigned to them or are having tasks that are overdue. The test email works fine, so the parameters for sending out emails are correcet (and I have changed the usersettings to allow for e-mail notifications), but I'm not able to set up the flow that will trigger the email notifications. If someone could help with this it would be much appreciated!
