Is it possible to install MD 365 for marketing with CRM On premise 2016?

Posted on by 10

Hi,

My customer has CRM On premise v2016. He wants to work with MD365 for marketing using the same entities (lead, account, contact, etc.)

It's compatible?

Thanks

Santos.

    Thank you Christian,

I don´t think the second option was a good solution because because it's very difficult to have a effective synchronization online.

    Hello Santos,

The Dynamics 365 Marketing application can only be installed into a Dynamics 365 online environment. We do not have a on-premise version of it. The marketing applications is composed of various backend Marketing services for example for email sending, tracking, marketing forms, etc. The marketing app needs to live in an Dynamics 365 online environment.

    Therefore your options are:

    1. Recommended is the transition of your Dynamics 365 / CRM on-premise operations to Dynamics 365 online and add the marketing application (in the online environment).

    2. Create a new Dynamics 365 online with the marketing application and implement a connector that integrates data from on-prem with your Dynamics 365 online organization. This requires some custom integration for your specific business data, but can be achieved in various ways.

    Hi Santos,

From your description, would you want to make data migration from CRM OP v2016 to D365 Marketing ?

If so, there are many data migration tools, you could work with your CRM data in Marketing application after data export and import.

In addition. Dynamics 365 for Marketing is only available in online environment,

please read following articles for how to purchase and license Marketing application:
