how to reuse existing solution with has more than 5 entities for Ribbon workbench

Good day!

I have some questions for ribbon workbench. We have a solution for ribbons with more than 10 entities. Before Ribbon Workbench update, they were uploaded into Ribbon Workbench successfully. But after Ribbon workbench update (latest version), this solution couldn't be uploaded into Ribbon workbench and Ribbon workbench showed a message which said only allowed max 5 entities in a solution.

Right now I don't know how to update my current existing ribbon solution now.

Can I delete some entities from this existing solution which is in PROD as unmanaged solution? After deleting some entities, do their ribbons still work?

Or

Should I create a new ribbon solution with only 5 entities (or less - depend on our requirement) for future requirement?  Should I deploy the small solution as managed or unmanaged into PRODUCTION?

In the future,  we could have ribbon change for different entities.  Can I delete existing entities from the small ribbon solution and add new entities?

Thanks for your help!

What I normally do is create a solution with only 1 entity and work on the buttons for that entity. It makes loading and saving much faster. You can still load 5 entities in one solution and then maybe make another solution to hold the other 5 entities and load 2 instances of the ribbon workbench.

When you want to move the new buttons for your 10 entities to another environment you can add all 10 into one solution, export and then import into another CRM instance with no issues. The 5 entity limitation is only for loading the ribbon workbench.

I would even say 5 entities is a bit too much. I like to work on the buttons one entity at a time.

Managed or umanaged depends. A good article was written about it:

managed makes rolling back easier as modifications are tied to the solution so deleting it from the environment rolls back all the changes that solution makes while unmanaged means if you want to remove one of the buttons  you've added to the ribbon. You'd have to go back into the ribbon workbench and delete them and all their actions and rules manually.
