Thank you for the prompt reply.
This matter has been resolved. The issue was that Microsoft D365 did not save the account number for transaction type when I had initially allotted it and saved it. I had also checked if it saved before closing the form. But when I revisited the item groups form, it wasn't saved.
I have noticed similar save function issue on the other forms too.
