I'm trying to get my head around word templates and limitations. It seems you cannot format numbers and values in word it self. For example below scenarios:
1. Number of decimals - only way to set this changing decimals in at the field level . Not a good solution reporting should be decoupled from the field decimal precision which normal in ERP
2.amount format like $1000.00 or discounts ($1000)
3.Conditional visibility - Only show discount if value <> 0
4.Add new fields or related data items to existing work document - looks like you have to create again
