Acess the "Weight" field found in the Performance Goals Menu in the Goal Template Menu and use it in both with the same value.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

My objective is to create a goal group with some performance goals and I want to use the "Weight" field to indicate the how much that goal counts for the global evaluation of the employee.

The value appears in the table "goals" as we can see in the Goals Menu.

Problem: I cant acess this "Weight" field in the Goal Template Menu.

And to create the groups you first need to create Templates.

First, I tryed to just create a performance Goal (with Value "Weight" set to 25.00 --> Create Template from Goal. Then I went to one of my team members and Add Goal from Template but the field was at 0.00 . So it didnt work. I want the value to be the same everytime I add the goal to any employee.

Next, I noticed that in the Goal Template Menu there are only two types of tables, the "Goal Template" and "Goal Category"

And in the Goals Menu there are "Goals", Worker, "People", "Goal Category" and the field "Weight" belongs to the Goals Table.

I also noticed that there are 3 fields that are commun in both menus and the value I set in one of this menus its the same when I create Templates or add goals from templates.

In the Performance Goals menu this values are in the "Goals" Table (just as the "Weight") and in the Goal Template Menu they are all in the "Goal template" table.

So there has to be a way to make the Field "Weight" appear in both menus having both the same value right?

I think the solution is around this Tables but I am not being able to find it, I could really use the help.

Thanks in advance.

    Any update?

The weight value should be as important as the "Level" and "Goal Category" you should be able to set it in the "Goal Template" menu by the HR department and should be connected to the weight in the review ratings, the employee should not be able to change the weight of the goal for is evaluation.

    Thanks again and regards!

    Hi everyone,

I have a similar problem. In order to "standardize" goals for all company, I'd like to be able to add a Weight to any goal I create on "Goal Templates". That field is available both in Goals and, of course, in the Review Ratings but I can't find with on Goal Templates, not even on the fields we can add to the form.

Is there any way to add the Weight field to a Goal Template?

    Thanks
